Pets are Part of Families Too

Some of the families of Harmony's House have pets, and one family even has a parent who works with pets as a Dog Groomer!  When the children asked for the puppies and kitties to come back to the House Area, this seemed like the perfect time to make a Pet Salon.

Check it out!  We have a waiting room for clients to hold their pets while they wait for the groomer to come get the animal.

The first stop for our stinky pups is the bathing station!  Our pets get top-notch treatment with a bubble bath and shampoo.  Then they need a quick towel down.

Next they need to move to the Styling Station.  The "groomers" can use toy blow dryers, brushes, clippers,  and bows to spruce up the pet's look!

Lastly, we have some pet crates (carriers) where pets wait for the client to come and pick them up.

We sure hope our school friends have a barking good time with our new House Area set up!

May has Come and Gone

This was our life in quarantine.  We filled our month with rainy day art...

Flower gear gardens...

Indoor kitty picnics...

Playground birdseed bakery...

Reading...

Tower building...

Dandelion running...

Splash pad sprinkling...

Sit n' spinning...

Toddler "Elephant" turned 18 months this month!

We hope the world will return to safe socializing soon because we miss preschool friends coming and learning with us!  If you have more questions or are interested in our program, please contact Ms. Harmony at harmonyhutson@gmail.com.

Spring in Quarantine

It's been a quiet spring with the Covid-19 Quarantine, but we have been having fun in simple ways with everyday things.  We added easter eggs, dollar store bird houses, and silk flowers/leaves to the block area.  It's been fun to build color castles and bird apartments that burst with texture and vibrancy!

We pulled out new dress-ups that include flower crowns and bunny ears.

We've assembled countless Potato Heads, each fantastically silly!

We've ventured outside to splash in water, mix up sand, and get our Vitamin D.  We tossed out leaves and discovered all kinds of new blooms.

We've built with legos to make cameras, houses, gardens, and castles.

We've hidden, found, climbed, bounced, and run around.

We've had fun!

Everything is Awesome!

Friend "Sandwich" and Friend "Kite" have LOVED rocking out in the House Area!  For awhile, Friend "Sandwich's" theme song seemed to be "Everything is Awesome" from the Lego Movie.  ;-) He talked about attending a rock concert for several days before Ms. Harmony added microphones and guitars to the dress-up rack.

Friend "Kite" is an excellent back up vocalist and dancer.

The dance moves have been... AWESOME!  It is super fun to see the friends perform together and change roles.  One thing is for sure, when you come to Harmony's House, you WON'T be bored!

Let's give them a round of applause!

Tis the Season to be Jolly

We welcomed December with festive new work in the Explore Table and House Area.  In addition to singing "Jingle Bells" on repeat, this new table filler encouraged lots of conversation about shapes, sizes, textures, materials, colors, quantities, and sounds.

We have one unsolved mystery as of now.  Not one jingle bell could be found that would fit in the smallest circle Christmas box.  We are on a mission to find a bell small enough to fit inside with the lid on tight.  :)

We also filled the boxes and pretended to exchange Christmas gifts, and it was SO hard to wait to open them up!  We would shake the boxes and listen to see if we could figure out what was inside!  Super exciting!  ;)

We had a cookie party today with the new Christmas cookies!  Snuffy even got in on the action.  We "fed" him so many cookies he got a tummy ache!

Poor Snuffy.  He had to lay down and take some medicine.  That's what happens when you eat too many cookies at Christmas!

What's with the "Names?"

For new readers of the blog, this post is an explanation of the "names" Ms. Harmony uses when she writes about the school happe...
