Summer Adventures


As we wrap up the last few weeks of the Summer Session at Harmony's House, we are celebrating all kinds of summer adventures.  Friend "H" recently went to a Construction themed park, which was amazing!  We all know he loves hammers (his letter link).  So this family adventure that his family took him on was particularly fantastic to nurture his fascination with all things construction.  Ms. Harmony used the Explore Table to extend his interests at school.  The "soil" is dry black beans and pinto beans.  Fisher Price Little People and vehicles can move the "soil" around, lift logs, and place cones.  How fun to work in a construction small world!

Baby "K" tried to sample the beans.  She decided that crunching on dry beans was yucky.  Ms. Harmony and the school friends told her, "Don't eat the beans!  They are not cooked!"  Later, when working with marbles, Baby "K" tried to put some in her mouth and Friend "H" said, "I don't want you to put those in your mouth.  Don't eat the marbles.  They're not cooked!"  :D  Baby "K" got lots of practice of picking up marbles and handing them to school friends, which is a much better choice!
